unforced opinions

Serving looks. Returning opinions.

League tennis from someone who actually plays it. Every outfit here gets worn for a real match before I say a word about it. If a skirt can’t hold a second ball, you’ll hear about it.

What you’ll find here

Match-tested outfits

Worn for a full league match, then judged on what matters on court: the ball pocket, the serve, the sweat, the heat.

Tips that work at our level

Patterns that win points in rec league, not on the tour. Nothing here comes from a coach.

Doubles, from the inside

Partner types, calling the ball, and what actually gets said at the changeover.

Hi, I’m Jessica

I play league tennis: competitive enough to care about the score, recreational enough to blame the wind. Unforced Opinions is what I wore, what happened on court, and the opinion I’d give you at the fence.

Tips that work at our level, not on the tour. And doubles, the only sport where you control half the court and none of your partner. Some mom life and travel sneak in, because that’s how matches get scheduled.

Match notes, by email

Outfit verdicts and league stories, sent when there’s something worth sending.

Brands and collabs

I test gear in real league matches and say what I think, including when it doesn’t work. Anything gifted, paid, or that earns me a commission is labeled right where you see it.
